The Megrez 102 is a delightful scope.
A little purple halo on very bright objects
but thats all. Nice and light.Focuser is
really smooth and it's nice to be able to
turn the knobs any direction.

The touch of the focuser is so light! And you may even rotate the whole focuser for framing (or the direction which the star diagonal points)
It does not come with finderscope. You have to get one and fit into the screw holes (standard tripod screw and M6), but it is easy.
Most of the time you need the diagonal to absorb some optical path, otherwise, you need to have a extension tube.
The purple halo is there @ 120X, but my brain can filter it for Moon observation. While I got a Sirius optic MV-1, I mainly use it in planets, esp Jupiter.
Regarding the lack of finder and mount, it may not be a beginner's scope, but it is a very nice second traveling scope! Recommend.
I had also considered BORG 100ED but I chose W.O. finally. (and I am happy). I traveled from Hong Kong to their Taiwan office to buy it. Very friendly service.

A wonderful piece of workmanship. Much nicer fit and finish than anything else in its price range. Focuser is one of the best I have used. If you have ever done machine work you will dig this scope.
If not for some minor astigmatism and some purple on brite objects ( it is an acro after all ) it would be a 10-10-10.
