Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Telescope Reviews:Takahashi FC-76

I recently picked up a very nice used FC-76. It blows away the FS-78 that I had. The views, both astronomic and terrestrial, are just incredible. They will have to pry the focus knobs from my cold dead fingers. Now I know the true meaning of "wow factor".

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Telescope Reviews:Stellarvue 80mm F6

I recently acquired my second ST80(actually dedesignated as an SV78). It has a 2" JMI two speed focuser and screw on dew shield. It bears the serial number 19. I sold my first one when I decided to upgrade the overall viewing experience and still have a small scope. I tried the Takahashi FS78, Celestron C5, and Questar 89mm field model. They were all very nice but two were very pricey and the C5 lacked punch. This being the case I returned to Astromart and found my current scope. This is really what a great scope is all about: Wonderful optics, excellent build quality, and semi-apo performance. It resolved the sixth craterlet in Clavius when the Questar and Tak couldn't. Need I say more?

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Barlows:GSO 2" 2x

This is an amazing piece of equipment at an amazing price[$49.00 plus $8.00 priority mail shipment from Owl Services]. If you have a 2" diagonal this Barlow is a must have. As previously stated by others, it will provide 3X if placed in front of the diagonal. Is this the best bargain in astronomy gear? You better believe it!

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Eyepiece Reviews:TeleVue Plossl 17mm

I just picked this up through Astromart. As a Digiscoper I find that this eyepiece is near the power limit for my setup, 79X in my SV80 with a 2,8 Klee Barlow. It is an excellent eyepiece in every measurable catagory. I'm very happy to have found one on the used market. This is my fourth smooth side TV Plossl and the fourth ten.

Entry: Astronomy:Equipment Reviews:Eyepiece Reviews:Guan Shen Optics 42mm

Just received this eyepiece and have only tested it terrestrially. This has to be the best buy in the eyepiece industry. Very sharp and contrasty. At $49.00 from Owl Services it is a steal. If you are looking for a low power 2" eyepiece you better get hold of one of these while you can. well I better shut up before you think I'm related to the dealer or Guan Shen, which, of course, I'm not.
