It contains a field assessment AND bench testing. Haven't seen many reviews of eyepieces that involved bench testing. Medkeff's review does not meaningfully address the Brandon's key virtues: contrast and blackness of the background. Besides, he owned the University eyepieces and just borrowed an old set of the Brandons.
