As a note only....not to be directly critical...but, Roland Christiansen has lately desputed the accuracy of Suiters star test as a measure of optical quality on several owner web sites do to the recent backlash of owner optical star tests that fail to meet the diffraction limit. Why the 180 degree turnaround? For what you pay for an AP of any kind, it makes you wonder why there isn't an interferagram with them.
Just one more thing to think about.....

I had a chance to look through this scope at a dark sky site a few years ago and have a few comments to make. First, it takes a while to set up, being broken down into several pieces for easier transport. Second, it is expensive. The owner mentioned that he sold a small powerboat to obtain it.

I was very impressed by the tack sharp imagery and jet-black background sky. This thing would kick ass on the planets. The owner showed no interest in looking through my friend's 10" SCT, my other friend's 8" Newtonian, or my custom 10" Dobsonian. I think he was afraid that our much less expensive scopes would be better.

Conclusion: My 10" custom which cost me $1100 to assemble is easier by far to transport and set up, and the imagery for deep sky is vastly superior. The owner repeatedly slewed to various deep sky objects and kept saying, "Can you believe this is only a 6" scope? I didn't have the heart to tell him that "Yes, I can."

Just curious....by any chance is Roland Christiansen related to Hans Christian Anderson?
