Nikon Monarch 8x40
Excellent daytime binocular. Very compact and lightweight design. Nice cosmetics with light rubber coating. Optics at night are good for about 3/4 of the field. Outer edge suffers with stars that are comamatized. Overall a good to excellent portable bino that should not be considered for astronomy as much for terestial use. I found they suit my needs fine. I would recommend them as the backup set for quick oberservations for both day and nite use.

I should add that I am spoiled after using the Fujinons. The Nikons are good but just not in the class of the Fujinons and are only half the price. If you want astronomy binos, don't consider anything less than 70mm. The larger the better. My Miyauchi florite 100mm were superb.

Nothing wrong with the product, but the no fault warranty is a scam and service is slow and nonresponsive.
