Orion UltraView 10x50
Great eye relief for eye-glass wearers (almost too much).
Bright, Sharp images and (virtually) pinpoint stars.
Nice FOV for 10x50's

Edge distortion is higher than I would have hoped (they are only slightly better than a cheap $50 pair of binocs I've got), otherwise, but in all other respects, they are great binocs for stargazing.

Orion UltraView 10x50
Fully multi-coated. Center sharpness is very good (not quite
in Zeiss or Fujinon territory, but hey, for the money). Edge of
field is good; not as good as Fujinon FMT, but better
than some Leicas I tried. Good eye relief. Contrast / brightness
good, but not quite Zeiss.

Excellent binocular for the money. Only ones I have tried
that were clearly better cost 3x or more.

Grade = 9 allowing for the good price / value.

Orion UltraView 10x50
Nice wide field of view. Images a little soft around the edges -- not too surprising given the FOV.

Not much to add to the other reviews...a very good overall performer and an excellent value. You really do have to pay a lot more to get better performance.

Orion UltraView 10x50
Some astigmatism and color noted when defocusing e.g. Jupiter. Sharpness good on axis but only fair near edge - not noticed in daylight use, but a little annoying at night. This model had the new screw-down eyecups, which I find a great improvement over the folding type. However, the ER is more like 17mm than 22mm - just enough with my thin glasses. Overall, a good value.

Orion UltraView 10x50
Used these binoculars for 2 years before getting a telescope and loved it! With all aspects considered, price, eye relief (I wear glasses), power, tripod threads, etc., can't beat it. Still use mine next to my scope on a tripod for reference viewing, and still get great complements. Only slight color distortion near the edges, not a problem in most viewing situations.

absolutley the most comfortable binos i've ever owned. optics are exceptional all the way to the edge. pull in twice the view of any other mag/aperture combo, fov awsome for magnification. a best seller no doubt.

Orion UltraView 10x50
Easy to focus to my eyes, both with glasses and without. Weight is easy enough to handle. I like the adjustable eyepieces, pop in or out. One was a bit stiff other than that I would have given it a 10. Views are very clear to the edge. I was a bit concerned about the 32 oz. weight but as mentioned, not a problem. I like the coating of the whole unit and the soft case. I guess that's about it. Going out now to do a little stargazing.

Excellent. It would be nice to have the lens caps attached to the body
so that they aren't easily lost.

I JUST GOT MY PAIR AND COMPARED THE THE BUSHNELLS I GAVE AWAY, THEY ARE GREAT.
THE TWIST OUT EYECUPS WORK WELL TO STOP STRAY LIGHT AND THE EYE RELIEF IS JUST
RIGHT FOR ME WITHOUT MY GLASSES ON. I DON'T LIKE TO OBSERVE WITH THEM ON. THEY
HAVE A SHARP VOF OUT TO THE EDGE AND I BOUGHT THEM ON SALE TO BOOT. THE ONLY
REASON I DIDN'T GIVE THEM A 10 IS BECAUSE OF THE WEIGHT. IT ISN'T TO MUCH FOR
ME, BUT KIDS WOULD PROBABLY HAVE A PROBLEM HOLDING THEM FOR VERY LONG.

Orion UltraView 10x50
I have the 7 times 50 ultraview. When I bought them I compared them to two other 7 times 50 binoculars in the store that were the practically the same price. The others were made by fujinon and a waterproof pair made to mil-spec by a company that makes Navy issue binoculars. While there were attributes I liked in the competing models, the Orion binocular was clearly better optically. The images had more contrast, were slightly brighter and had less extraneous color than the competitors. Anyone that uses eyeglasses will love the long eye relief on the Ultraview. The rubber skin is a plus, and makes them feel good to hold. The standard wide cotton carrying strap is designed for comfort, they are good looking too. The high contrast of these glasses make them truly a delight to use. I can't explain it, but for some odd reason all colorful objects seem to be more colorful in the Orion Ultraview. My color perception seems to be greater when using them. Negatives? There are a few. At thirty ounces they are a little on the heavy side for my taste. The diopter adjustment of the right ocular is too easily twisted out of adjustment. Water resistance is very poor. When I hiked with them on a drizzly day the eyepieces fogged. The apparent eyepiece field of view on this pair is rather narrow, and sharpness falls off rapidly toward the edge of the F.O.V. Overall however, a very nice binocular for the price (and I'm particular) and a fine commendation for Orion products.

I have had for a year now...I still love to take these out and scan the heavens. These are better than some binoculars costing 2-3x's as much. Excellent coatings. Work great in the daytime or at night. Highly recommended for the price.

Orion UltraView 10x50
I cannot believe someone gave these binoculars a zero (0) above. There logic was because they got a defective pair and did not even ask for a replacement that they deserved a zero. Unbeliveable.

Anyway...these are great for the price. I purchased mine after Orion dropped the price (within the last year) from $180.00 to their current price of $159 + $8.40 for shipping. What a bargin! I have used binoculars costing 3 times this in the 10 x 50 range and cannot see any differance in the views. The views I get from the center to the edge of my lenses are crystal clear, bright and the contrast both day and night is excellent. Well done Orion...I'll pass these on to one of my children. The one's I got say made in Japan. I love the 22mm eye relief and the fact you can twist the eyeguards in or out to adjust to your eyes best eye relief view. This is a feature all binoculars should have.

I'd really give these a 9.5 if I could...they are that good!

Orion UltraView 10x50
First class binoculars for the money, but I have a problem with them. I really AM an eyeglass wearer and I don't get enough eye relief. Still and all, views are crisp, light gathering is good, false color is low enough for the price and despite there being false color, they remain sharp. Unfortunately Orion advertises these as the ultimate eyeglass-wearer binoculars and they're not. That's my beef with them. They need about an extra 3mm of eye relief to be what is claimed for them.
