Unbeleivable sound. Great user interface. Drives Tower AR model 91's with authority. Compares to my Rotel products in sound processing. Plus I got it for $499, you can't beat it!! Highly recommended!!!!!

This thing ROCKS! Unlike magazine reviewers, I can't play with every reciever ever built, but this is clearly "top of the line" equipment. It has plenty of input and output jacks, and enough effects to keep me learning/experimenting for a month.

I am very disappointed about this model. It's twice more expensive than Pioneer VSX-D608, but Pioneer provides much more features (e.g., s-video switching) that Yamaha doesn't. Buy Pioneer!

Outstanding addition to my current H/T setup. Definately better than the Onkyo 676 that I returned due to hissing in the center channel. Plenty of power and sound quality is impressive. My only question is what is the difference between this receiver and the RX-V795?

The r-v1105 performs well, definately a quality receiver. The remote is difficult to program and some codes are not in the manual ( Sharp DVD ). I have also had problems finding the correct codes for my satellite dish. It just doesnt seem to work ( I have only had it about a week and only fumbled with the remote about 1 day ). Perhaps these niggling little problems will work themselves out. Sound is first rate, DSP modes are first rate, and quality is beyond reproach. Got mine for 525 delivered. Oh yeah, there is no difference between the 795 and 1105.

This unit is the 3rd one I went through. Sound quality was poor running my Klipsche speakers. I bought a Sony 925 and it has blown me away ever since. Glad I made the switch. Yamaha just makes too many different types of products to have good quality control. I will never buy another audio device by a manufacturer of dirt bikes

Very Unhappy

I am using the 1105 for a pre-amp on a hk 1.5 power block amp and i am running heco odeon 600's for speakers. Sounds okay but i think there is alot better. Maybe because of the speakers. The reciever alone didnt have enough power to run the speakers clearly.

This is the best sounding, best esquipped reciever home theatre reciever I've owned. It blows away all the previous high-end models I've owned, including Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, Harmon Kardon, and ONKYO. I highly recomend this reciever. Take it from someone who has been into HomeTheatre before there was such a word! I presently have it connected to 4 Yamaha NS-AW1s, Yamaha NS-AC40X Center, and one YST-SW160 Powered Sub...This setup replaced my Bose Lifestyle setup...The Bose have been in the closet since!

Super sound. Amazing power and ever feature you could ever want in a receiver.
Uses large capacitors for superior sound. This unit ROCKS!
