OK, can I talk about pacing a sec? I watched an episode, Goku was Fighting Frieza. I left town, I went to college, I busted my ass to the books. I got myself some credits over a course of a few weeks...Some beer too. I had good times, I had bad times, in the end it was a long time. I came back...Goku was still fighting Frieza. Hm... You know, for an action series things sure do move slow around here. I wish this series would move along with more ease.

F-"I'm about to boost up to 15% more power."
G-"You're bluffing, I smell your maxout like 3 day old fish."
F-"Not true, I've got 30% power yet unused where that came from."
G-"Well, now I've got a surprise for you, I'm going to boost my power by 11%"
F-"Big woop, I still got you beat."
G-"Yeah, except I've been holding back, and I've only been using 65% of my power."
F-"You still can't beat me."
G-"Did you miss math class or something? look, you claimed you had 30% energy left, and that means you've thus far maxed out at 70%. You then add to that the 5% you promised to kick my ass with and you're at 75%. I on the other hand have tied it up with you at my 65% maxout, meaning that when I add my 11% I'm going to be at a full 76%. Therefore, numerically, Your ass is grass.
F-"You're assuming that the 30% I told you about was deduced before I had deducted the 15% I promised to add. In truth I could have as much as 45% energy to maxout, so wussssaaaap!?"

I see kids at my high school wearing these shirts and always talking about DBZ. Why? The animation is lousy, the storyline is simple (punch, kick, magic spell), and the characters are way over exagrated. The original is much better.

While mildly entertaining when you've got absolutely nothing to watch, this is a piece of crap.

Sure, "action" sells, and that's what it did, but this horrible excuse for an anime leaves you with nothing but Saiyans flying around once you turn off that VCR. The creators did a wonderful job with it: they designed it in such a way that they could reel in millions of dumb-assed newbie anime watchers and squeeze their candy money out of their pockets for the effigies of a bunch of guys wearing power suits and scouters.

If you ever want to be a serious anime fan, we strongly recommend you to graduate from this crap as soon as possible so that it no longer fills your precious anime-watching part of your brain (if you have one) with utter crap that it produces. Of course, taking the literature class in your school certainly helps you see the ugliness of this "anime."

The ONLY thing this series has is the action, which is easily surpassed by other anime series such as Guyver, which itself is also an anime full of action and little else.

I give 3, not 0, only because it IS mildly entertaining, but the American dub of this thing is so damn atrocious that it requires a negative rating.

I love dragonball z especially the cell and buu sagas. I like the action scenes but what really draws me to the show is the characters. i like the way you get to watch them change and grow up over time. The core of the show is not about just fighting and violence, it's about the character's will to protect the people that they love. DBZ is NOT just another stupid action anime.

Bullshit. If you think DBZ is indeed that deep an anime, maybe series like Sailor Moon or Fushigi Yugi is way too deep for you to comprehend.

If you can see a decent "character development" in DBZ, I wonder what myriad of literary geniuses you will be seeing in many other series which are much better constructed than this joke of an anime. The series was originally designed to fool mainly younger teenaged male viewers who don't know shit about anime into it and we see that it is still very effective.

I LUV THIS SHOW!!!!!! it has a great story line to it, its funny, it has lots of karate crap in it (i luv that (^_^) ) at time it was sad... like when vegeta dies.... *snif sniff* the animation is great!!! the japanese ones kick ass! the canada's ones are ok.... not as good because they get edited! a lot!!!
the character are real good, love vegeta and trunks! they are sooo cute!! ^_^ but i love vegita more!! ^0^ hehe well....

One of the most pointless anime shows out there. Idiotic dialogue, shitty animation, unappealing character design, and a complete lack of an interesting plotline make this a complete mystery as to why it's so damn popular these days. Seems like a majority of idiots will gulp it up since it's televised regularly. But there are literally dozens of better shows out there that offer fantastic action that beats the shit outta Dragonball Z and even has some character development to boot. Those idiots who constantly maintain that Dragonball Z is indeed deep are nothing but yelping dogs desperately (and pathetically) trying to defend a moronic show by decieving not only others, but themselves as well. Face it, Dragonball Z isn't deep, and once you've seen other anime that isn't regularly televised (Pokemon, Sailor Moon), you'll realize what a complete idiot you are for even devoting any attention at all to this piece of shit example of a show known as Dragonball Z. Some american cartoons even put this crapfest to shame, and that means it's really terrible.
