Very well made with recessed eye lens that brings the eye relief to just over 20mm, foldable eyecup, and rubber grip ring. Fairly sharp to the edge even at f4.5 with some edge brightening. Much better than a Rini MPL in this price range when buying used ($40). Nice finder scope eyepiece.

Got one of these 32's before a star party. Wanted a wider field of view than my 20mm could provide. The 32mm worked well much wider view and sharp to the edge. Good eyepiece for its cost around 59.00. Dont have any complaints.

Very decent eyepiece for the money. I would reccomend it to anyone who doesn't have the money to spend on Panoptics or Naglers. It used to be my favorite eyepiece before I got hooked on Naglers and Panoptics.

Excellent eyepiece for the money. However, I think its worth it to spend 3 times as much to purchase something like a Meade 24.5 Superwide, whick will blow away this eyepiece in terms of magnification gain, and contrast gain, without sacrificing real field of view. The rating is based primarily upon price to performance ratio.

I had this eyepiece side by side with a Televue plossl.

I thought the Orion was brighter and sharper...
I was ready to return it for the televue.. but after looking I realized that I had the better eyepiece already...

Great price, nice finnish, rubber grip, and a rubber eyecup...

This is my most oft used dark site EP. Since eyepieces are forever, I hesitated before buying a Tiawanese mass produced occular. After reading Ed Ting's review, I bought one and it has worked very well. It is very sharp with only incidental edge of field abberations. The contrast probably is not as good as a UO ortho, but still very good. I did not have a $120 to blow on a TV Plossl, let alone a Nagler. (Besides, my 8" Dob was only $450). It has performed very well at dark sites. (Exit pupil requirements make it a bit too big for the suburbs). I find these Orion Plossls to be far superior to cheesy eyepieces that come with many scopes. While it may not give a "spacewalker" view like a $300 Nagler, it does not weigh alot either (which would necessitate rebalancing my Dob).

I wasn't impressed and returned it. Vision would black out and it did not barlow well. It was bright but not clear on the edges. I guess for $59 it was ok. I would recommend spending the extra money and get a Celestron Ultima 30 or Televue 32.

Adequate field of view (used in 5", f/10 SCT) and bright. However, this sample was prone to blackouts under most eye positions. Tube edge (stop?) was not sharp. Did not bother to check another sample, as its larger (40mm) companion shows a flatter, larger view.

I already have the TeleVue's and the Pentax's but am impressed by this EP's performance! Regardless of the price it gives me clear, contrasty images that are sharp to the edge. This includes use in systems from f/4.5 to f/10. I've also owned a set of Ultima's including the 30mm & 35mm. Images in this Orion are quite comparable. Blackout issues many refer to are often an issue of matching the exit pupil. This has just as much to do with your eyes as it does the EP. Dark adaptation and age are the predominant players in this equation. A very solid 32mm Plossl.

A very well made Plossl that works great on both my Pentax 80mm ED Spotting scope and my CR150HD 6" refractor. Also works well with my Scopetronics digital camera adapter and my Epson 3100Z digital camera.

My favorite eyepiece - the one I use most of the time - either by itself for low-power scanning or with my 2x barlow. Crisp view & nice eye relief. Works great in my 8" Synta reflector.

The 32mm and 25mm are the best of the Plossl line. Bright images, decent field of view, and good eye relief. When you drop below 25mm, the eye relief starts to get a little short. Below 10mm the eye relief is negligable - to the point where I won't use them even if I won them.
