kawajiri´s best film so far,I noticed some
comments about the story not being the most original,
true, but the script weaved the various elements together
masterfully andthe animation and fights are pure art!
the sexual scenes are hardly gratuitous and only
contribute to the story´s gritty elegance.

The animation and drawings are awesome, it got boring near the end though. The thing I don't get is that rock monster dies because he had sex with that girl, but all he did was put his mouth on her breasts, he never actually had sex with her.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't exactly good either. The plot was paper thin and the love story even less substantial. However, the animation is fantastic and the fight scenes are extremely well done, I recommend this if you're up for some mindless action in the medieval vein.

This was very good. The animation is great and the storyline is very gripping. I love the action scenes. Blood is cool. The only thing wrong with it is the scene where the guys gettin that girl from behind. Is that really necessary? I rented this movie because I wanted to see blood and guts. If I wanted to see sex I could go watch the playboy channel. Sex in cartoons is totally unecessary.

i thoght that it was a good peice of animation but all the idiots out there that make it sound like it is the onley animie worth watching are really pissing me off. the animation was good and the storey was enjoyable but i have seen better. i still don't think that ninja scroll could hold a candle to nausica of the valley of wind or zeta gundam or even akira. yes it is a good example of anime but there are a lot better out there.
i give it a 6
