My experience in buying an XT10 from Orion has been great. The original shipment arrived with the primary, secondary, cell, and spider damaged. Orion had UPS pick up the damaged OTA, and shipped out a new unit at no charge. They were always very helpful while all this was going on, and stood firmly behind their product. Generally, I find their prices very much in line with other mail order houses considering the service and support. They definitely get a 10!

I have been ordering from Orion on line for a while now. Have ordered 8 Items at different times and they got them to me as promised each time. They also sent me confirmations, and tracking #'s, each time. Tough to beat! Very reliable.

Best customer service in the business. Prices are a bit higher then the average vendor, but you cannot put a price on peace of mind. I have ordered several scopes and many accessories. I have returned a few damaged items with absolutely no hassles. They sent me an extended c-weight shaft to help balance an OTA on an existing mount AT NO CHARGE. They replaced a dew cap, that I admitted I damaged AT NO CHARGE. Not everyone there is knowledgeable about the merchandise, but you can always get a tech-guy who is. Jack, the senior tech-guy is top notch, and went out of his way for me a few times. If Orion has it, I'll get it from them.

Orion has great customer support. Anytime I've called them or emailed them with a question or problem, they have been very prompt and friendly. The times I've ordered from them the service has been top rate.

Have been waiting on a scope orderd in November. First they said it could arrive before Christmas, then they said just after the New Year. Then mid-January, then to the end of January. Now it's the first of Feb. and who knows. They evidentully don't have a firm handle on their imports, but thats ok if it things turn out well. I will let you know as things progress. This sounds like another earlier report that stated they were told 30 days but went 4 months. If the scope is top notch though it will be worth the wait.

I keep reading reviews at this website. Generally, the reviews for a product are all consitent, but there will be one review that is just horrible. I have to wonder if companies are themselves adding bad reviews to their competators.

I have bought accessories from Orion and have not received a junky item yet. I keep seeing reviews saying they are expensive. I do not know for what those writers were shopping, but for accessories I find that Orion consistently undersells Meade and Celestron. Ed Ting says Orion's Sirius Plossls are nearly as good as TeleView and for $50 each. I found he was right. I also relied on his advice when I bought an Ultrablock filter. It works well. [As a side note, Orion and many others are guilty of not explaining the specific exit pupil requirements of LPR filters they sell.] Orion has a wide variety of oddball accessories that might be difficult to locate elsewhere (red goggles, for example). Their website is tremendous and everyone I have talked to seems to think they have the best customer service in the business. Their catalogue and ad descriptions are a bit optimistic.

For accessories, at least (that is all I have bought from them) I highly recommend Orion.

Not the cheapest, but freindly, efficient, good technical support and certainly the BEST customer service around. If you worry about service AFTER the sale - shop at Orion.

I've found Orion to be first-rate in all respects.

Phone calls are answered quickly, courteously, and the reps have always been able to answer my (admittedly rather simple) questions.

When you send an e-mail for support or questions, you get an automated response acknowledging their receipt of the e-mail and telling you when you'll have a response.

They also support their products very well. Any defects or inadequacies are addressed quickly and without haggling.

I will continue to use Orion for many of my needs.
