I think these speakers are great, though I don't know how qualified an opinion I have. I haven't had a system for years and probably wouldn't now were it not for the advent of home theater. Now I not only enjoy movies more, but music is taking on a new importance for me. I don't like to crank up the sound too much since I have tinitus in an ear, but when I do, these babies handle the 80W per that my Denon 2700 puts out beautifully. I bought mine new from onsale.com; opening bid was $600 and I was successful at $689. Total cost to me $750. Look hard and you'll find them at great prices. I don't give anything a 10, hence a 9.

My Carver Cinema 5.1 Speaker System sounds very good for an all-in-one package that gives you all six speakers for home theater! The sub is very adjustable, the center channel is strong and the front spekers are timbre matched. My only complaint is that the vocals when I listen in stereo sound a little thin at times. However, I listened to a lot of home theatre speaker packages and was more impressed by the Carver than any other package.

The Cinema 5.2 are the same speakers with two subs, one in each tower, and an extra 5.5" speaker in the center channel.

Carver Cinema 5.1
Very tight control of sound. Quality speaker built correctly. I bought mine at costco for $499. Carver has since be sold. I have heard problems with the sub, but the other five speakers are still worth the price I paid. A note: I have two of the subs and have encountered none of the problems others have.

Good sounding speakers for the price. Sub performed well, but a larger sized speaker with more wattage is needed to produce more acurate bass below 25-30 Hz. The fronts, surrounds, and center lacke have some lower midrange and upper bass frequency deficits, but still sound very impressive for their size.

I have a carver cinema 5.1 and I love it!!! It gives good sound. I can crank it up without getting distortion or clapping from the sub. I had it since 3 years ago and it still works fine. Now I can crank it up and enjoy my sound system!!! Thanks Carver!!!! Fred

Have had speakers for 3 years and very impressed with their performance. Yes there was a subwoofer issue, which I was able to get repaired for under $75. Paid 399.99 original. What a deal.

Front and center sound deep and clean. Rear don't do it for me. Had to replace sub amp--- overheating But I'm sticking with them.
