Rivers Camera Shop
River's had the most knowledgeable sales staff that I had ever spoken with. The did not try to steer me into a product that I did not need, and were very helpful!

I have visited Rivers Camera Shop many times since it is not to far from where I like and I found the sales staff to be knowledgeable about cameras but not about telescopes. I have waited to be serviced while the staff talked to each other and found them reluctant to answer my questions. I was once went on to purchase a TeleVue Pronto and the sales rep to me they were out of stock, no offers to put me on a waiting list or order me one, just that they should more in a month or two. I would have gladly waited if I was treated properly. I left with my $1000.00 and order elsewhere. I have bought books and a few accessories from them but did not but a scope from them due to repeated poor service. I give them a 6 because they do have a nice stock or new and used equipment.

Rivers Camera Shop
I was driving through the area one night earlier this winter, and stopped to purchase a lens for my Televue. The store is nicely stocked, and very professional. Staff was informed and very helpful. I recently helped a friend here in Maine purchase a Televue 85 and equipment by phone. The nature of the deal required the input of someone who had the day off, however that person was contacted and responded promptly and positively.

I have no reservation about ordering from them again (and intend to), and would recommend them to any other friends that want a telescope.

This company was the first to take the time to anwser my questions. They guided me to the nextstar 5. I love this scope! Thank you Rod (rivers sales person). do yourself a favor and call these guys.

I purchased a used Questar 3.5 sight unseen it was described to me accuratly and in great detail by one of the employees. She said it was in brand new condition and at that price I felt it was a great deal. I ordered the scope and recieved a scope in better shape then its description and at a very fair price ( after all this is top of the line, in demand & expensive!) I trust this firm and would certainly deal with them in the future!!!!!!

Have dealt with Rivers several times over last 5 or 6 years. Polite,knowledgeable and courteous staff. Willing to take the time with a customer and answer all their questions. Would definitely buy there again.

I bought my LX200 f10 8" through Rivers .. Roger and his staff are great people to work with.. They also are very fair and willing to make you happy.. they have GREAT followup.. I'll keep using them for sure.

I bought an LX-90. Service was quite good, hardware arrived when promised in great shape. The only reason they're not a 10 is that they tend to be at strict list, no deals. That just may be that I bought an item that was really popular.
