TeleVue Nagler 9mm
Awesome premium wide field EP. Made somewhat obsolete by the Radian EP's and their superior eye relief.

>Awesome premium wide field EP. Made somewhat obsolete by the Radian EP's and their superior eye relief.

Response:

This is my most used eyepiece for my 10" f/4.5. It provides great contrast and allows me to see extra faint fuzzies in the field of view that I had missed before (e.g. near M81/82). My only criticism is that it is too heavy for most smaller scopes.

TeleVue Nagler 9mm
Shows its age, but still a solid performer. I own a smooth side 9mm Nagler that is about 10 years old, but have nothing to complain about when I observe with it. The newer Nagler may be smaller and have better coatings, but this one delivers and for the used prices you can get these for right now you can have an excellent ultra-wide field of view for the price of a Meade Superwide. I bought mine on astromart for just $145, making it a great value and an eyepiece I will probably hold onto for years to come!

TeleVue Nagler 9mm
I really like this eyepiece. Even though I found it slightly (very slight!) dimmer than the Type 6, it was not enough to warrent replacement. Eye relief is very comfortable. Kidney beaning is more evident than the 8.8mm Meade UWA but the view is better in the Nagler. Great, classic eyepiece.

TeleVue Nagler 9mm
Decent eyepiece. I don't like dual barrels. Had a lot of focus problems. For some reason it has a much different focal height than the rest of my TV EPs. Had a lot of blackout problems. it was my least used EP when I owned it.

However, I do remember that it gave nice images, and it was a good price for a nagler.

>I use a 9mm Type I on my 16-inch Newtonian. See my web page:- http://www.chess-dictionary-chesmayne.net/Index-Constellations.htm --- for an extensive discussion of my telescope(s) and accessories? I also have the 16mm Type II as well and a 2-inch Tele-Vue coma corrector.
Yes - the 9mm is pretty good - pricy - but worth it due to the 82d wide-field and the flat-field when used with the coma corrector. Excellent when used on a 63mm Zeiss refractor. Now - how much did you say the 31mm Type IV was again?
