Dragonball Z: The Tree of Might
This movie along with the other 2 are great additions to the Dragonball Z series. They have the usual kick ass fights, but TREE OF MIGHT in particular has a little more involvement with plot and characters opposed to THE WORLDS STRONGEST and DEADZONE. All in all an amazing movie with awesome fights and characters. A MUST SEE!!

The best of the first three Z movies, but again, avoid the dubbed version (which is somewhat butchered) at all costs.

What's missing in the dub? Well, let's see...

Of course, the excellent "Cha-La Head Cha-La" theme song is missing, only to be replaced with that *hellish* "Rock The Dragon" crap.

Higher Dragon has been inexplicably renamed to "Icarus." And for some reason, they dubbed a new voice for him, despite the fact that he has no dialogue, just "dragon noises."

The Saiya-jin space probe has a voice that doesn't belong.

Kaiou-sama says the fruit of the tree is for the dragon, as opposed to who it's actually for, "the gods."

At the scene where Turles holds Gohan's eyes open, forcing him to stare at the moon, his fingers seem to have been painted over.

Some punches were covered by "stars," like they did with the later episodes of the TV dub.

Naked Gohan was censored, as always

And finally, some blood was removed from Gokou.

In addition to those, there's the "normal" DBZ dub stuff of removing the original Japanese BGM...and Kaiou's horrible dub voice.

Picky stuff? Sure, but hey, if I don't tell ya, who will? :P

I got the privlage of renting it, and they didn't edit it in that one. (too much)
Cha-la-head-cha-la is still there
Gohan is still naked
punched are not covered
people are not sent to the next dimension, they are killed.

There's probably more, but I haven't seen the Japanese version

The Movie is So cool When Goku Goes in between these two guys and says " Energy blasts. Go!" and one of the guys dicinegrates

oh MY god...the Japanese version was sosooooooooooooo AWESOME!!! I mean the way Tenshinhan said" TAIOHKEN!!!" made you stunned and the way kuririn says" KIENZAN!" just made my hair stand up it was so cool..the animation is sooooo cool and the plot was awesome too.....the drawings were incredible..I dunno how they could have drawn the tree moving like that..it was mesmorizing! It was sooo cool ^_^

There is a person waywaywaaaaay up there that claimed some of the stuff was buchered.

Don't watch it on T.V.

BUY IT

The version released by Pioneer and the version Saban turned into a three episode run are tottally different. NONE of the dialouge is the same, and none of the voices on the villains are the same. Cha La Head Cha La is left in, not that Horrific "rock the dragon". They don't block out punches with stars, nor do they block out Gohan's nudity. The dubbing is done wonderfully in the movie, and uh semi okay on TV. Pioneer's villain voices are much better, I especially liked Turles's english voice.

For example: When Piccolo flies in to help save Gohan from Turles, Turles says "Who the hell are you?" where as on T.V. he says "And just who are you?" The line used on T.V. simply does not work with the expression on Turles's face at all. Neither does the voice acting. If you buy the movie, Turles sounds thorougly unimpressed when he says that line.

Saban also has a problem with silence. The pod that crashes down on earth doesn't talk, there is also no talking during the stare down between Goku and Turles. It's actually quite an intense moment. The scouters smash and and it gets really exciting!!



This movie didn't have as much character related stuff as say The World's Strongest . However, the animation is great..! and the battle scenes are exciting and soooo cool. The ending was also very cute ^_^.

This movie was the bomb!!!! turles is bad and goku can defeat him using the spirit bomb. But I think the best character PICCOLO should've had a bigger part
