Venus Wars is OK. The story and characters aren't really memorable or outstanding, but the visuals, especially the battles and vehicles, are very nicely done. Worth a rent.

"Venus Wars" was definitely an original concept that seems to be under appreciated by anime fans. All in all a good effort by Yasuhiko Yoshikazu, but I found the manga to be more in depth. OSH

Stereotypical and flat characters set against a lame storyline = never a good combo.

I had to watch this four times before I could ever sit through it long enough to finish it..

Venus Wars
A serious, involving story similar to Akira. A group of youths confronts a conspiracy larger than they ever imagined. The lack of character depth is more than made up for by the great action and some of the best script work I've seen in dubbed Anime. This movie makes a great effort to put the viewer in place of the characters. A grim, exciting war story with great animation and concepts.

It's one of those anime's i rented thinking this is gonna suck.. but it doesn't!
I acually enjoyed it! its like Akira but not ..more civil war theme than government coverup. This is a good rent but I wouldn't fork out 25 bucks for it.

Plot is a little too trite and predictable. Some scenes mixed in with real background did't seem to mesh in well. Sometimes it worked. Others it was forced. Characters are nothing to write home about.
