Decent optics and images. Once I got out the bugs, it worked fine. Beware of loose screws, tighten everything down, even if you have to reach halfway down the ota to do so. Also, remove cheesy staples on teflon bearings in the mount cradle and replace them with tiny nails. If you don't, you may be grinding plastic soon. Eyepieces work better than anticipated, the raci 8X50 finder not the best, but functional. Adding a red dot finder is a must. At 325.00 shipped (opticsmart.com), this is the most apeture I could afford. Beat out the Orion 8" dob by 100.00. Used it on planets, about half the Messier catalog, a few NGCs and comet Holmes. Splits double double well with my 15mm ultrascopic with good seeing. Resolves much of M13, the ring at high power (200X), cassini div., etc.. If you can deal with the weight and some mechanical tweaking, nothing will show you more for the money.
