I think with theese eyepieces people take visual comfort for optical performance.

I love using it, it´s so comfortable, but it´s not that great optically. A 32 mm S4000 superplossl (japan) simply trounces it.

These very good oculars are often bagged by many critics. In terms of viewing comfort and construction I would give them a 10. Optically between 8 and 9. certainly as good as many of the better plossl's. Very comfortable and very good contrast. Not quite up to a good orthoscopic but this eyepiece has 20 mm focal length and is not intended for planets. With a barlow planetary images are good but not excellent. contrast is a little lower than I get with orthoscopics.

Superb eyepiece! I have side-by-side tested the Vixens against Radians and they are just as good in every category. Stars are tack sharp right to the edge of the field with no fall-off in brightness. I have the entire set.

I find there are just too many other designs better than this. The fov feels cramped and on axis images are not that sharp.(forget the off axis images) Eye relief is quite good of course.
