Tenchi Forever (TMIL 2)
The most important thing to bear in mind when watching Tenchi Forever is that it's different from every other Tenchi show or movie you may have watched. Very different. While a blend of comedy, romance, and drama has from the start been Tenchi's trademark, Tenchi Forever abandons that formula altogether, in favor of a very serious and very emotional drama/romance story. So if you're looking for catfights between Ryoko and Ayeka, or humorous interaction between Mihoshi and Washu or Kiyone, you need to look somewhere else. Aside from a few funny lines from (who else) Mihoshi, this movie is devoid of comedy. There are also no good-vs-evil battles or dramatic fight scenes; there really isn't a villain at all. But ultimately, there isn't any need for such things in this story; such things would only have detracted from what this movie is really about. Overall, while as far from your usual Tenchi fare as you can get, this is a beautiful final chapter to Tenchi Universe. And while it doesn't give an absolute answer to the question of who Tenchi truly loves, the ending scene, with its marvelous parallels to Noboyuki and Achika in TMiL, really says all that needs to be said.

Tenchi Forever (TMIL 2)
This is one of the most grand conclusions to a tv series ever conceived. Akin to the Kimagure Orange Road movies, Tenchi Forever deviates from the goofball comedy approach employed by the Tenchi Universe television series and instead uses a more sedate and dramatic approach, which makes watching the whole Tenchi Universe series even more worthwhile. Instead of focusing upon clear-cut villains as in the first two movies, Tenchi Forever instead deals with the emotional tension between three very different women regarding the man they all love, without resorting to foolish catfights and squabbling, as in the television series and prior feature films. The film is both touching and gripping, and even offers some closure (although not specific) as to whose direction Tenchi's heart truly lies. There are no real action-packed sequences, and many regulars are reduced to more miniscule roles, but in the end, I couldn't care less. Tenchi Forever is simply the most fulfilling Tenchi release ever made, and a genuinely touching conclusion to the wonderful Tenchi series.

Tenchi Forever (TMIL 2)
Hmm, the art wasn't as good as the previous two films, it's style is like Tenchi in Tokyo. I hated Haruna... After watching this I gained a lot more respect for Ryoko ^_^.

Tenchi Forever (TMIL 2)
This Tenchi movie seems a little different from the rest. To start, the animation style has changed and looks a bit softer. It looks a little sloppier at times, but much more dramatic (especially Ryoko's rendition) at others.

Unlike previous Tenchi series, there aren't any climatic sword fights or battles, no evil super power lurking in the depths. Just a story about people's desire for hapiness and love.

Most of the characters including Kiyone, Mihoshi, Sasami, and even Washu play pretty minor roles, as the story mostly deals with the relationships of Ayeka, Ryoko, Yosho, and Haruna with Tenchi.

The Soundtrack matches the whole story and is turned down a notch to a more classical type of theme.

Overall, I was very suprised at such a mellow Tenchi production. Definitely very good if you're into dramatic sorts of anime (eg. Tale of Genji).
