TeleVue Plossl 40mm
The Tv 40mm plossl is one of the best in the 40mm plossl field

decent fov
really good eyerelief
really good build
cost, eh, a little high but acceptable!
contrast is very good
in a f 10 scope the optics are really good all the way to the edge!

this is one eyepiece that you are sure to like!

Im not saying this is the best 40mm plossl out there, im just stating this is a very, very good eyepiece in my opinion.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
This is an excellent EP! I have used in a variety of scopes such as 13.1" f4.5 and 6" f/8 Dobs. Also, 8" and 12" f10 SCTs. This is a quality made product and stars are crisp and clear to the edge. Exceptional eye relief. Great FOV.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
Definitely the worst Plossl 40mm I ever tested in my SCT f/10 telescope.
I sold it as soon as I could.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
First I had a Celestron 40mm Plössl. One day, when I looked through a 10.5 Tele Vue Pl and and my
Celestron 10mm Plössl I was impressed by the difference. On Jupiter ther were details in the
Tele Vue that the Celestron Pl didn't show.
I sold the Celestron 10 and 40 Pl and was searching for the best upgrade.
I looked at the 42mm Celestron Ultima but the 36 degree FOV placed it back.
The 40mm TV Plössl is absolutly perfect (in 1.25")
The coatings are so well, there are no reflections.
The FOV is o.k., the eye relief is good and it is smaller then the Celestron.
I never sell it.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
Less than I'd expected. Contrast is OK but the Celestron Plossls
look better in this respect. I wear glasses and the eye relief is
good, infact more that I really need. Filed is sharp to the edges.
One of the biggest gripes I have is that the focus position for this EP
is WAY off everything else I have, including a Radian. A good EP but
that gets no more than a 7.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
A fine eyepiece, with pin-point sharpness, and excellent color correction. It can make a worthwhile addition to an ETX owner as a low-power,light-weight, moderate fov alternative. I've used it in a Tahahashi 4" refractor with very pleasing results. Highly recommended.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
This is the great low power eyepiece. This eyepiece gives pinpoint sharpness and contrast right across field and works well with TV 5x Powermate. The problems I find are minor but annoying. The eyepiece has too much eye relief, which make the rubber cup rather useless and it has a poor quality case.

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
Great eyepiece for dim, spread-out objects. Best from a dark sky as the low power does not darken the sky in the suburbs. In fact, I after I got this lens, I went out and purchased the TV 32mm Plossl for use in less dark-sky places. This lens is greatly helped by a Light Pollution filter,

TeleVue Plossl 40mm
I purchased this eyepiece to get the widest field possible in a 1.25" eyepiece.
The star images were very sharp. But, there were two problems with the eyepiece. The minor problem was the field stop not being in focus. The major problem was too much eye relief. I had a great deal of trouble trying to see through the eyepiece without the image blacking out. Perhaps the long eye relief would benefit someone wearing glasses ???
