Description:This is an optically superb and exceptionally short focal length ultra wide field eyepiece. This latest premium 1.25” TeleVue Nagler Type 6 uses seven optical elements for optimized performance across a very wide field of view. Several different extra low dispersion glass types and specialized coatings are employed for improved contrast and longer eye relief than previous Nagler designs, even those acclaimed as being among the finest wide field eyepieces available. The 2.5mm Nagler uses a built-in Barlow to achieve high power without reducing the eye relief to an unacceptably short value. At a usable eye relief of 12mm, the 2.5mm Nagler would normally vignette the field of view for eyeglass wearers. However, since the 82 degree field is so wide that you can’t see the full field without having to move your head from side to side to take it all in anyway, vignetting in the conventional sense is not a problem.

TeleVue Nagler Type 6 2.5mm
Well, I picked up one of these at NEAF, so I was a great bargain. And I wondered if the fl. would be just too much. I'm using it in a TV-101 and a 10" Portaball. Very nice in the fast (5.4) refractor. But the big surprise was popping it into the Portaball. Lunar views like I only imagined! Very high mag(500x) but no fault with this ep! Very good eye relief for such a short focal length eyepiece. Same huge fov and seemed to accomplish everything with ease. Definitely try one!
