I have used this EP for quite awhile now and I am always pleased with it's performance. Like most people I suspect, I bought it for FOV. With an SCT, you just can't get enough FOV, but then you already knew that! Well, this EP goes a long way toward providing those "walk in space" views. (Considering that the scope is an SCT, that says a lot.)

The eye relief is extensive. It is a lot more like watching TV than looking through an EP. An eyegaurd to help position your eye would be a helpful addition but not mandatory. Construction quality is good and the EP has held up nicely for a couple of years now.

Mikie likes it.

Wow, blew my mind at how much I could see. With the f/6.3 reducer in my C8 this gave more than a 2 degree field. For us SCT users, thats a godsend. The particular one I used had a horribly long eye relief that was nearly impossible to hold. I did check out another one that behaved excellently. Nice view of the Lagoon and North American Nebulas as well as an interesting scan of the Virgo cluster at f/10. Nice piece of hardware, but check out the eye relief before you buy.

By the way, you CANNOT go wrong with a Gary Russel eyepiece. For the money, kicks the crap out of anything on the market. Thumbs waaaaaaay up.

Excellent views out to the edge on an F10 system. Bright and crisp. Light weight eyepiece that doesn't upset balance (unless perhaps because it is too light). Better than the 50 mm Optiluxe with much less kidney bean. Used primarily as a locator/finder eyepiece. Well built.
