Pentax Orthoscopic 6mm
This is the best of the Pentax orthos (which is saying a lot). Very bright, high contrast image.

Pentax Orthoscopic 6mm
This eyepiece offers exceptional image quality in terms of sharpness, contrast, and brightness. It is sharp to the edge of it's fairly narrow FOV, no ghosting, and flat field. While it may be slight, it was still easy to see the difference in image quality compared to 6mm UO Ortho or Radian. Eye relief is tight, but okay if you don't wear glasses.

I've compared quite a few eyepieces in f/5.4 and f/5.3 refractors, and am basing my ratings on image quality, not FOV.

Pentax Orthoscopic 6mm
I have the entire series of Pentax SMC orthos. This is the best of the series. Can't be beat for sharpness, contrast, and comfort of use. Televue 6mm Radian is a close second, but still second.

Pentax Orthoscopic 6mm
Absolutely an amazing eyepiece. Allows my scope to suck up power like never before. The Pentax 6mm Ortho gave best view that I (and a number of other people) saw of the Double Double - it was hard to describe - at 300x the split was so clean on both pairs that they looked like headlights from some alien cars in the sky! Jupiter and Saturn exhibit sharpness and contrast that usually start fade at these magnification levels. I thought I had seen it all until I looked through this eyepiece. 10+ in its rating.

Pentax Orthoscopic 6mm
Amazing performance from an eyepiece that looks like a toy. Absolutely the best performing eyepiece I have ever seen on the planets. Contrast and sharpness are second to none. Too bad they are no longer being made. If you find one on the used market - grab it!

All Pentax SMC ortho's are excellant. Best planetary eyepieces available, bright and clear as the Zeiss ortho's.

One of the few truly great planetary eyepieces for the non eyeglass observer.
