I own a Televue Panoptic and still find that I pull out my trusty Clave when the seeing is good. Despite the years since manufacture these eyepieces still match it with the best.

By far my best eyepiece. Shows 6 stars in the Trapeze when others can't do it. Background so dark you cannot see where it stops. Stars perfect pinpoints

Sharp eyepiece but contrast could be better. I always had the impression looking through haze with all small focal length Clave eyepiece.

Unimpressive looking EP but delivers. Eye relief is tight, but is not a problem. e.g., better than 7 or 4.8mm Nagler or 8mm TV Plossl. Completely sharp to edge of 48 degree field. Stars are sharp points, I bought this EP for planets but ended up using it mostly for deep-sky because of the oustanding contrast and trueness of colors.

Uninspiring to look at, fine to look through. The barrel extension above the eye lens serves to locate the observer's eye but also reduces apparent eye relief. This is an excellent optic, sharp across the field, bright, virtually no ghosting. Too bad it gives too much magnification for casual use on a C-8 (That's where I use my workhorse 16mm Clave). This one deserves a "10".
