Borg 76EDL
This is an extraordinary telescope that deserves separate notice from the shorter focal length Borg 76 ED, which, while a very good scope in its own right, suffers from some spurious-color (as do all shorter focal length ED doublets.)

The 760mm f10 EDL on the other hand is essentially spurious-color free, comparable in that regard to a Takahashi FS78. It is also every bit as sharp as the Tak, with virtually identical star tests! I've owned both and have compared several FS78's and an FC76 (using Tak ortho EPs) with similar results. Additionally, the EDL is much lighter, and while it is physically longer in use, with its ability to screw apart in the center, it can fit in in a carry-on bag and go places that the Taks can't. (I also compared it to a Sky 90, which will travel easily but shows more spurious color than the 76EDL.)

Worth mentioning is the incredible flexibility that all Borgs share. Tube lengths are very easy to adjust, either using the stock draw tube or replacing it and the Borg helical focuser with a short fixed tube section (that can be removed for binoviewing!) and a Feathertouch focuser, as I have. This is easy to do since Borg manufactures an adapter ring for the Feathertouch.

So, perfect star test, spurious-color free, easy to break down for transport, and incredibly configurable without a machine shop... Why is this scope such a "sleeper"? I have no idea. Not many exist, but strangely, I see at least one of the big dealers advertising it "in stock". Do me a favor, buy that one before I do.... I have too much invested in astronomy without stocking "spares"!
