Perfect sound and picture.
Diappointing that it will not play cd-r although i am informed that you can use vivastar 80min cd-r although i have not tried this yet.
The nad is a little fussy with hired dvd, if they are not in mint condition it will not read them.
The nad is very slow to use, you almost have to wind the damn thing up.
I paid £299 of your finest English pounds, it is multi-regional, but still feel that it was a little over-priced

NAD T550
The picture quality of this player is fine. However the sound goes out of sync on virtually EVERY disc I've ever played. The unit has benn back and forth to NAD for over a year but they can't fix it. They've finally admitted that the unit is not really up to the job of playing any DVD manufactured since 2001 because it's too old. I've only had it thirteen months! The shop where I bought it have finally got so sick of it they're changing it for a Pioneer free of charge. I can't wait to see the back of it. Having previously been a very big NAD fan, I won't be buying another NAD product ever again.

NAD T550
I recently purchased one and am amazed at the sound quality. I am hearing rear surround sounds which were encoded on the disc but could never hear it on my previous dvd player. What a difference? Well done NAD.

NAD T550
Audio quality is better than any CD player I've ever seen, including Audiophile equipment. Video is better than all Sony equipment that I tested. No problems. It could use another S-video connect for VCR hook-up. A fine player.
