It's and erfle, so the edge is soft on shorter (f7-) scopes. Good in center.

Does not compare to 35mm panoptic.

Meade Super Wide Angle 32mm
Not a bad way to do 2" at 32mm, for the price. Purchased it to replace Edmund Scientific 32mm Erfle. Superior edge performance to the Erfle, nice views in a c14. Won a three way competition with the UO 32mm Konig and the Edmund 32mm RKE.

But the better pricier eyepieces blow it away on every performance dimension. That said, it's a good "place holder" eyepiece to hold till you have the funds for an XW30 or 35 Pan (or 31 Nagler). In the intermediate price range it's a viable option with an appropriate intermediate level of performance.

Meade Super Wide Angle 32mm
Very poor performance in my F6 achro. Only the center 30% of the fov was sharp. The seagull's got blurrier and blurrier the further out you went. Replaced it with a 36mm QX and can't believe the difference. About 70% of the fov of the QX is sharp and even at the edge things aren't too bad. Quite a value at only $99.

If you have a fast or semi-fast scope, the Meade 32mm SW is not for you.

Meade Super Wide Angle 32mm
I love this eyepiece, and use it all the time on my f/10 LX 90. It's bright, has great eye relief and NO blackout spots.

The 32mm SW gets 63x in my Meade, and provides nine-tenths of a degree, which is almost enough to see the entire Double Cluster.

At $230, it's not cheap, but I think it's well worth the money.

Meade Super Wide Angle 32mm
This is my 3rd Meade eyepiece. I also own a 6.7mm and 14mm UWA. Both have given me excellent views in the telescopes I use them in. I opted to purchase the 32mm SWA over several other 30-35mm widefield eyepieces I had been considering due to how I have enjoyed the other Meades I own. I have only used this eyepiece a couple of times in my 6" refractor. I was pleased by how sharp it was and how wonderfully wide the f.o.v. was. It doesn't have the "spacewalk" effect of the UWA's but pretty close due to being a 2 incher. Really nice, open views with star clusters really showing well through it. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a lower power eyepiece with a decent f.o.v. Maybe it's not a 35mm Panoptic, but neither is the price. Meade may get slammed some on their telescope QC but I have yet to look through a bad uppper end Meade eyepiece. As to the post above, perhaps the eyepiece you received was a "lemon"? That does happen unfortunately to all companies sometimes. Too bad you had a bad experience and are now "soured" against Meade because of that. If you ever get a chance, try the 14mm UWA. You may just change your mind about Meade.

A piece of crap! Originally, I thought it was either aberration, or a chronic collimation problem, but no......after slipping in a friend's Panoptic 35mm, I realized just how bad this eyepiece really was! It even displayed seagull star images with a Takahashi 4" refractor, so then I knew something was wrong! It's gone now, replaced by a recently purchased Panoptic 35mm. What a difference!

I think that A 67* field is all you need.
2\3's of the field is sharp in my 14'' f 4.5.
It frames the picture nicely. A little coma at
the edges doesn't bother me. There's no glare
on bright objects, and no black out areas.
I gave it an 8 because I think $300 is a little
steep.But I like it and plan to keep it. Which is
something for me.

Meade Super Wide Angle 32mm
This is my only non Nagler or Panoptic eyepiece. It gives great wide-field views in an f6 8" Newtonian, and saves the need for a finderscope. (Find the general area in an easy-to-use Telrad, use the 32mm eyepiece to centre the object and enjoy the view, then switch to a higher magnification. You get high quality views, and a great wide angle eyepiece for little more cost than a finderscope!) It has more distortion at the edges and is slightly less sharp than my friend's 35mm Panoptic, but here it is less than half the price, which makes it a real bargain! It also looks very impressive, and is much better than the more expensive SWA 40mm (which gives seagulls at the edges).
