I've done business with them three times in the past year. They are my favorite of the 4 or 5 astronomy vendors I have dealt with. What I like best is that they are courteous. Also I trust their advice completely because they will give you a completely honest evaluation of their own products -- good and bad. And of course, they sell very good products: some are expensive but worth it, and others are rather inexpensive -- but not cheap! Oh yes, and the orders do come promptly (2-3 days) and well packed.

Minor complaint: they have lots of good merchandise that is not on their on-line catalog and some of the stuff online is no longer available. In general, I don't get the impression that they update the online catalog very often. They still get a 10 from me because they do everything else so well.

I have ordered from University Optics several times. I have their complete line of orthos and love them. Service is fast and shipping is fast.. Only once was an item back ordered and it was delivered when it was promised. Cant ask for more than that.. Just wish other companies ran their business this way..

Just a simple order and they are only about 100 miles away, but when I call in at 4:50 (10 minutes to closing) and the order arrives in less than 24 hours, I'm happy. (Give UPS a little credit.) Prices seemed right.

Jan the owner there is great on service and very knowledgable about astronomy equipment such as eyepieces. It took less than 2 weeks to get my brand new eyepieces , packed just great , no damage at all. Jan has very good low prices andexcellent quality eyepieces . Will buy from him everytime . My eyepiece case is full of UO orthos & konigs. Can't beat the performance for the price. An excellent value!! Service from Mr. Seyfried is always fast, friendly and helpful. I plan to build my next Newtonian from UO components.
